I Don’t Want to Grow Up (Author Unknown)
I don’t want to grow up, it’s just not for me
I want to stay young and carefree
I don’t want to worry about bills and rent
Or all the responsibilities that adulthood has sent
I want to play all day and have no cares
I want to run through fields and climb up stairs
I want to believe in fairy tales and magic
And not have to face the harsh and tragic
I want to stay innocent and pure
I want to believe that love will always endure
I want to dream big and reach for the stars
And not be limited by society’s bars
I don’t want to grow up, not just yet
I want to hold on to my youth and forget
About the pressures and stresses that come with age
I want to stay young and never turn the page
But alas, time marches on and I must grow
I must face the challenges and highs and lows
I may not want to grow up, but I must
And I’ll hold on to my youth and dreams, I trust.
